The Amherst Train Depot officially went into business January 1999. The owner,

Jay Higgins, has a serious love of trains dating back to his pre-school years.

He is a collector who turned his passion for trains into a business.

"If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life".

Jay is a US Marine, serving 1970-1973. He strives to give our customers a good product,

timely shipping and excellent customer service. We started selling our trains in a storefront in

Englewood, FL. Fifteen years later, customers became more internet driven and we sold

our store front and started to sell exclusively on line.

Quality is very important to us, and that is why we only sell the better quality line of trains.

Jay has collected these trains since the early 1990's so you will find many New Old Stock

items in our inventory.
